![]() ![]() A photograph that is said to have a wider dynamic range is able to capture more of the shadows and highlights at the same time. A small dynamic range will allow perfect capture of shadow, but lose all the detail in highlights, or vice versa. Dynamic range is the amount of details that can be captured in the shadows and in the highlights at the same time. When you want your photographs to encompass more of what you see, that is called dynamic range. mp is just pixel dimensions, nothing more. If you need to print larger, or crop in tighter than your camera allows, you need more megapixels. Megapixels give you a larger image, but that doesn’t means it’s better, just larger. While a lot of people are still chasing megapixels, the real innovation is in dynamic range. If you haven’t looked at it before, or it’s been a while, there really has been an evolution in this technology. I am a huge fan of HDR and have been for quite a while now (about 10 years). If you are new to High Dynamic Range Photography, AKA HDR Photography, see the very popular, detailed tutorial I have written on it here: Colin Smith’s HDR Tutorial. Lightroom 6/CC gave us the ability to merge HDR photos together directly from within Lightroom. A lot of people didn’t realize that we can now to the same thing in Camera Raw. In the past, we have merged our photos in Photoshop using Merge to HDR. ![]() New in Photoshop CC 2015 release is the ability to merge bracketed photos together in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw). ![]()

![]() Finally everyday musicians have access to high-powered amps that are light enough to fill a rack without needing a team of roadies to move it.įor the last 30 years, most power amplifiers had two channels, intended to reproduce a stereo mix conveniently. These new designs yield a lot more power, run cooler and weigh considerably less, opening the door to amplifiers like the Carvin Audio DCM3800L, which offers up to 1800 watts per channel yet weighs only 15lbs. The new challenge became how to make power amplifiers smaller, lighter and cooler, since all those amps also produced a ton of heat.įortunately, in the time since that Shea Stadium show and The Beatles' famously inaudible appearance, audio designers have developed better solid-state power amplifier technologies. But as the decades rolled by, touring and fuel costs continued to rise. ![]() Fortunately concerts were a lucrative business and produced more than enough revenue to pay for these huge systems to be moved, set up and hauled across the country. In those days power amplifiers were relatively low power to today’s amplifiers, they were heavy, and took up a massive amount of space. Sound systems needed a lot more speakers to reproduce the music cleanly and audibly to larger and louder crowds, and this meant more power amplifiers. The obvious problem was how to amplify the music enough to keep up with the ever-increasing audiences that crammed into concert halls, stadiums and outdoor festivals. ![]() While the cultural impact of the Fab Four would echo for decades, so too would these massive boisterous audiences change the business of sound reinforcement. It was Augand Beatlemania had definitely infected the US rock audience, spawning the famous scenes of them running away from crowds of screaming girls. From the moment that Ed Sullivan introduced the band, rock music history was changed forever. Incorporating the fans into the amplifier brick design maximizes cooling while minimizing wasted energy and noise.ĪDVANCED POWER FACTOR CORRECTION (PFC) UNIVERSAL POWER SUPPLY – The most advanced power supply in an installation amplifier delivers power more efficiently in almost any condition than anyone else, resulting in less power dissipated and less heat in your racks.50 years ago The Beatles performed at Shea Stadium to a crowd response so enthusiastic that you couldn't hear the band. REMOTE ON/OFF INTERFACE – Save power by integrating the amplifier into a control system so you can easily turn it on and off.ĮFFICIENT COOLING DESIGN – Highly efficient internal cooling fans provide airflow to the most heat-generating parts. This means better design flexibility since DCi powers all loads on a channel-by-channel basis.īRIDGEABLE CHANNEL PAIRS – Unlike amps from other manufacturers, the DCi Series channels are bridgeable – even in 100Vrms mode – which means even more adaptability for higher power applications such as subwoofers. With no need for a step-up transformer at the output, the DCi produces higher audio quality much more efficiently.ĬHANNEL INDEPENDENT HI-Z/LOW-Z SELECTION –Drive either one or two speakers in low-Z mode, or literally hundreds of speakers in high-Z mode (70Vrms or100Vrms). More channels in one box allow smaller infrastructure rooms that can reduce operational costs while giving you the utmost in installation flexibility.ĭIRECT DRIVE CONSTANT VOLTAGE – Save money by using smaller gauge wiring to drive the speakers using either 70Vrms or 100Vrms. ![]() TRUE RACK DENSITY – Power points of 300W or 600Win 2-/4-/8-channel configurations – all in a 2 Rack Unit form factor. ![]() ![]() ![]() Create a Windows file association for the.
